Maximizing motivation
Our model is based on the premise that writers have to have a stake in what they write. If writers are just writing for a paycheck, they may not put their best work forward.
Most alumni don’t know what the meta cases are, and it doesn’t hurt them if they write “B” level neg briefs since they’re not the ones competing. That’s why RexRegis requires our writers to be current competitors. They have to have skin in the game. Our contract requires that the neg briefs they write for you are the ones they use to win outrounds themselves. They can’t risk writing a second-rate brief.
We also focus our fall and spring semesters exclusively on negative briefs so that our writers don’t have any conflicts of interest with sharing their aff cases.
Speaking of sharing their cases, current LD competitors will never be motivated to publish their best case through a sourcebook. That’s why we use alumni to write our LD resources—vetted by our LD director, who’s intensely motivated to see the LD arm of RexRegis succeed in its inaugural year.
